I am a women’s health doctor based in New York City who specializes in menopause, perimenopause, menstrual irregularities, PCOS, severe PMS, contraception, and overall women’s health health. My office is located at 30 Fifth Avenue, between 9th and 10th streets, in the heart of the Village.
I started Village Women’s Health because I love taking care of women, from menarche (when periods begin) through menopause. I have a special interest in the hormonal issues women face during the course of their lives: severe PMS, irregular, painful or heavy periods, acne, excess hair, low libido, and problems that arise as women approach and experience menopause, such as mood issues, concentration difficulties, worsening migraines, irregular or heavy bleeding, hot flashes, and vaginal problems. I also specialize in reproductive health and am able to provide most forms of contraception, from intrauterine devices to implants.
Appropriate treatment for hormonal or menopause related problems often requires a highly individualized and thoughtful approach. My intimate practice enables me to have the time needed to provide comprehensive and personal patient care.
I am a North American Menopause Society Accredited Menopause Practitioner who is board certified in Family Medicine with a subspecialty in Family Planning. My practice focuses on the medical and gynecological needs of women. I am on faculty at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University, where I am involved in research related to women’s health, as well as teach medical students and residents, and care for patients there.
Because I am a Family Physician I am also able to take care of most gynecological issues, mammogram referral, osteoporosis screening and treatment, as well as assessment of thyroid health, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels.
As your women’s health doctor, I will do my utmost to help you feel better and help you navigate through the never ebbing tide of medical information. I do not accept medical insurance, but will gladly provide you with an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurer for out of network services. I look forward to meeting you and earning the privilege of being your physician.
